With increasing talk around the over-diagnosis of “attention symptoms,” scientists are paying more attention to the fundamental role minerals and vitamins play in focus and distractibility. Previously, a lot of research focused on the benefit of single nutrients, such as Vitamin B, on state of mind. Now, we are thrilled to see scientists investigating the synergistic role that broad-spectrum micronutrients play together.
New Study: The micronutrients in MicroNourish Core Micronutrients may improve attention-span
The pivotal study just published in the British Journal of Psychiatry investigated the impact of broad-based micronutrients on a large group of adults with long-term attention, distractibility and focus issues. No additional medications or supplements were given to the group.
The double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial, split a group of 80 adults in two: giving 42 broad-spectrum micronutrients, and the other 38 a placebo. The results – observed by clinicians – showed that those taking micronutrients:
- Demonstrated improved attention-distractibility factors over the placebo
- Enjoyed better mood and outlook, unlike the placebo group
- Displayed increased scores on a range of other global factors than those in the placebo
Micronutrients: A better place to start
Researchers concluded that the study provides preliminary evidence of efficacy for broad-spectrum micronutrients as a non-drug approach to attention issues, hyperactivity and distractibility, with a reassuring safety profile.
